Adeboye calls off Sokoto crusade

  Considering recent happenings in Sokoto State northern Nigeria, the general overseer of one of Africa largest congregation has thought it wise to stop the forthcoming crusade which has receive a wide coverage till now. The cancellation was made known on Monday in a social media post. Pastor Adeboye who has been holding a crusade in states across the country was scheduled to hold one in Sokoto State from May 16 to 17, 2022 The Sokoto crusade will now hold virtually as against the physical crusade as earlier scheduled. Pastor Adeboye enjoined members of RCCG to join via social media platforms to pray for Sokoto. Pray For Sokoto! Pray For Nigeria! “Intercession is the truly universal work for the Christian. Christian association declares nationwide protest

  The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has organised a nationwide protest to demand justice for Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, who was burnt to death within the school premises on Thursday for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad. CAN direct churches across the country to join the protest. CAN made the call via a circular that was released by the General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, on Saturday. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) directed all churches in the country and Christian stakeholders to hold a peaceful protest nationwide over the gruesome killing of Deborah Yakubu by a mob of Muslim youths in Sokoto State for alleged blasphemy. The circular which was titled, “A REQUEST FOR NATIONWIDE PEACEFUL PROTESTS, CALLING FOR JUSTICE FOR DEBORAH YAKUBU” reads, “I have been directed by the CAN President, His Eminence. Rev. So, the question now is, Is this action permissible and what is your advice for those people”? The prime suspect in the murder of the 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Deborah Samuel Yakubu, is not a Nigerian, top police officials reportedly told Peoples Gazette. The police said that the man whose face is well captured in the viral video of Deborah’s cruel killing, is strongly suspected to be a foreigner from the neighbouring Niger Republic. According to the Police, the suspect could not yet be found in the Sokoto metropolis where the inhumane crime was committed despite his face being captured in a viral video.
