Biblical Naaman of today.

God’s reach is for the total man, body and spirit.

TEXT: 2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

No matter the reach of our influence, the spread of our connection and the wealth we possess, the ‘sin problem’, remains with us not until we come to the one who has the remedy. See Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: The ailment of the man called Naaman representative of the sinner and a holy God; there is a similarity between a sinner and a leper. A leper’s skin is covered with some kind of skin disease, just like a sinner’s is covered with iniquity before the Holy God.

A leper is isolated from the community, secluded and just like a sinner is separated from God. Isaiah 64:7, And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

A leper is not cured, but cleansed just like a sinner is not cure, but cleanse also.

RIVER JORDAN: Naaman was not content to have his cleansing at this river, common it may be, but it makes simply the way of salvation that all men may find it. Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Men prefer secret cult that offer them secret wealth and breakthroughs which is only temporal but shun the eternal life God has provided to us through his son. We have more than one hundred cults today, starting from secondary schools to universities. There is also the other side of Naaman which is pride. Today man is very proud and does not consider himself as needing God, but maybe coronavirus has changed some mind to know that they do not know all neither do. Today’s pandemic should be a time for sober reflection, for many have lost loved ones. It has literally thrown the entire world into mourning . If there is a time for man to look towards God, now is that time. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. humility opens door to us before God when we are humble God moves mightily among us.2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. We all agree that the land direly needs healing today.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.]

As usual, will see you in church.
