What Easter means to a believer

Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

That the name Easter was really a pagan festival can not be disputed or looked over. Christianity. Glossing over fact do not make us committed Christians than we are ignorant. Claims examined should not make us feel uncomfortably. Those who are afraid of Apologetic regarding their christian faith are not ready to study to show themselves approved of God like the bible commends us. Fighting over whether Easter was a pagan festival is an unnecessary waste of time and a diversion from the sum and substance of Christianity which is RESURRECTION POWER. To the believer, the death of Jesus is where Truth and falsehood met and truth emerged victorious; that he resurrected proves he can save all those who come to Him through faith on what he did on the cross where he gave his life for all. The bible put it strongly when it says; Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

A little light will suffice on EASTER. The name comes from the Saxon word [Esotre] meaning a goddess of the place [this case of Saxon] At the same time of these sacrifices coincided the Jews festival of Passover which was only popular with the Jews who were in the minority. It is no use denying it that at this said time this pagan festival was more popular than the Jews festival of ‘Passover’. Because the Resurrection of Christ occurred during this time, they decided it to it called Easter.

‘The nonchurched,’ may not know much about the significance of Easter, but a new testament believer will find that it is a very important event in the church’s history founded by Jesus Christ. His death would have been meaningless if he failed to resurrect. The power of resurrection is the authentication of his ministry and mission on this earth. The resurrection of Christ was the junction where truth met with falsehood and truth emerged victorious. The finished work on the cross was not really finished until he resurrected because they often hung Men on the cross as a punitive measure for heinous crimes. Like every other truth takes time to show forth, all denied his claims until it was too late. One guard said, Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. Many are still in that state of denials until it is too late for them. Do not be caught in the same boat, now is the day of salvation put on your shoes and head for the nearest bible believing church. See you in church on Sunday and remember to observe safety protocols.

joyful celebration!
