DEATH COULD NOT HOLD HIM CAPTIVE

Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Philippians 3:10-11 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

The power and pride of sin over us is its sting of death.

The holy sepulchre is the name of the traditional ground. They buried our lord and saviour according to John’s gospel. The tomb was also close to the place of his crucifixion.John 19:40-42 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now, in the place where he was crucified, there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. Three days later the sepulchre was empty!. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead was where falsehood collided with truth and evil met with good and the later emerged victorious and he gave us that victory, making us to be more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. The sin that condemns us before the almighty God is not the flouting of the famous old testament ten commandments. No, it goes beyond that; It is the inherit sin that comes from our first father, Adam. The bible puts it this way, through the apostle Paul, Romans 5:12   Wherefore, as by one man sin entered the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Thus if you give birth to a son in a test tube, make him grow up in a test tube, screen him from the rest of the world, and let him feeds and have no contact with the world around him, later, released him to the world. There will be the tendencies and urges gravitating towards wrong, for the fact remains that the Adam’s nature is disobedient, heady and naturally rebellious and these traits are ever in man against his creator. This sinful nature controls us most times to do what we do not even want. Psalms 51:5, Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Therefore, all must be born again to do away with this sin that condemns us all. We all need this Savior.  1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.. It therefore stands that even if one can live in a world famous with sin yet able to live without committing an offense, he is still in need of a Savior. It like going through the rig of fire. You can not come out the other side looking spick and span. You need a detergent on the other side to do the cleaning of your clothe and a bar soap for the body. And that is where the blood of christ comes to play.
What makes this possible is the victory that was wroth on the cross by Jesus Christ. It is on that cross that He MET all,[AT-ONE-MET] and he paid for our sin with his life, for the wages of sin is death. The power of Jesus Christ to redeem is indeed, display in no other place, but on the cross. The power of sin over us is death, yet death could not hold Jesus down. His ability to rise from the dead is the ultimate power that the father, God showed us. For it takes sheer power to raise a man that has been dead three days from the grave. Jesus predicted concerning this wonder in the gospel according to John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. So every believer via the resurrection of Jesus is assured of life again after death.  1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. Glory, he paid the price for our sins. Mark 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. And he did.
