IMPARTITION OF VIRTUES

“1 Timothy 4:14, Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”

When young Yamal etched his name in the records books, y becoming the youngest player to score in the European championship, people started asking who is this boy? Indeed, like King Saul once inquired about David after he slew the giant called Goliath. pictures of young Messi and Lamina Yamal resurfaced online, thus linking the older football legit [Lionel Messi] with imparting Yamal the same passion to play good football. How true is this assertion? Is it just a media sensation or is there an iota of truth in this? Could it be a mere coincidence that Yamal, indeed, took to football like Messi? True, to the layperson who knows little or nothing about the things of the spirit, this is just a coincidence. To the modernist, it is laughable to link this Yamal’s performance to a gift from Messi. I am here to prove it to you that this is possible and in Christianity we call this “transference of spirit”, or impartation. We can see this in the old testament following God’s commandment to his servant Moses. Let us read: Numbers 27:18, And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; Read also Acts 8:18, And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands, the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money. What I want to establish here is that the act of passing on of virtues, transference of spirit, and blessing requires the movement of the hands. As parents, especially fathers, can you remember the last time you held your baby in your hands, look at him and made some pronunciation? those times are powerful and what you said to that infant is likely to come to pass. As a father, the success of your children depends mostly on you. And you do this through pronouncement, planting a seed of greatness, virtues on your child. The best time to plant seeds is when they are still infants, this time they are impressionable. Let us take a cure of how Jesus, our lord and saviour, reacted after rebuking the disciple for trying to keep the children away from him: Matthew 19:14-15, But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them and departed thence.Mark 10:15-16 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. Luke 18:16-17, But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. The three gospels explain the same events, but Luke and Mathew miss out on an important aspect of that small , but quality encounter with children; they both missed out the place where he put his hands upon them and blessed them! When you want to pass on a blessing or impact someone with virtues, there must be a contact with the hands! [read again references made]Read this, Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? Like i said, there must be a contact or touch for blessing, impartation or virtue to flow.

But note the following:

1. This is an authority given to ecclesiastics by God. It is a priestly authority.

2, The father, being the head of the family, occupies that position than the mother. Like job demonstrated in the old testament.

3, Another person can also make such pronouncement or impartation with the father’s permission. Like what happened here.

This is why it behooves believers to take child dedication in the church, to be very important, rather than birthdays celebrations. The blessing, the impartation, and the child’s dedication to God of Heaven have a lot to do with the spiritual growth of the child and identity. Spiritually, all men have an identity. That was why the demon asked the seven sons of Sceva, who are you? Acts 19:15, And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

MARANATHA!
