THIS ONE SIN

 Archiving your dream in today’s world is like passing through the eye of a needle for most youths, especially, in societies where the government does not care about the welfare of its citizen. The politicians see politics as a way to amass wealth, ‘ chop your own clean mouth’, and leave for the next politicians to take their own share of the national cake [while the poverty rate of the governed continues to grow astronomically.] So when the few who are able to make it outside politics emerge ,their story is that of hard work and grit, financial sagacity and a strict economy that only the determined can survive.  For many who admires them they cannot help, but want to hear them talk, and write about their story of rags to riches. These kinds of settings the bible alludes to as errors. see Ecclesiastes 10:5, there is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler. Imagine having gone through the thick and thin, blow hole in the rock, pass through the eye of a needle and turned mirages into touchable goals, engaged in a wild goose chase, captured the goose and put it in a bag only to… only to have one little weakness in character that threaten to destroy or literally destroy it all.

King David was an accomplished warrior and was gifted also with formidable warriors among who was dodo. And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties. He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines. And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance. Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim. And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines’ garrison was then at Bethlehem. And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem that is at the gate! And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD. That is King David——– he loved the Lord and refused to take pleasure in gulping down the water, taking into cognizance that those men had gone through “the valley of death” to give him a drink. Such loyalty displayed by those men should be given to God only not man. Truth said.

But that David worshipped the lord in that manner is worthy of emulation, but about personal life? Many love the lord , but take foregranted to watch our personal life and how we portray to others our love for God. Then one day, King David was relaxing and that was to be his undoing. The events that followed that relaxation brought untold hardship to his family.

Samson was the power of God in man to do the super human but when he was relaxing with a woman like David that was to be his undoing.

King Solomon inherited a peaceful kingdom courtesy of his father; therefore, the men where available no life of able bodied men lost in battle, no young woman was suddenly rendered a widow for losing a man in battle. So King Solomon decide another way put them all to his use and they hardly had time for themselves and family while Solomon had all the time to marry from across the border; from far away countries and relax in the company of women which was to be his undoing. Resting on our laurels has its dangers as successful men.

In the christian race, there is no time for enjoying the pleasures of sin, for we do not know the appointed time. Let us not be caughtt on the wrong foot. Recently, in Lagos, Nigeria ,i personally wept for a young pastor/ founder who despite, having a wife found it pleasurable to get entangled with another lady in his church[a supposed sheep] which the court established as rape and he was sentenced to life! We pray he wins an appeal, but before the time what if the trumpet sounds? What about his family? The flocks of christ ? The new converts? The ones still drinking milk? It is a set back you will agree.
