PASTOR BASHING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Man Quits Church As Pastor Tells Congregation To Contribute Money For Wife.
Omooba Adeleye, has joined the crew. It is no news that social media dome is a hangout for lies, malice and exaggerations in negativity against the pastor. He just fired a good one at pastor[s] using[imaginary?] one as a scapegoat. Why not? If social media attacks kills- pastors ,evangelists and other workers in the "vineyard", especially the ones in Nigeria, would have all been cut down by hails of bullets from critics like Adeleye. Should anyone bother? No, of course, after all, one way to get attention, one way to attack clergymen is to go on social media, post a story that sound outrageous and can not be verified; one that would leave us with our mouth hanging, such as the above handle from X. It is a no brainer to bastardize and portray one religious sect in bad light, in a pluralistic society like ours on social media . Many indulge in this campaign of calumny because any bad news against the pastors will attract traffic to their site. Nigeria does not practice monotheism [the worship of one God] why is it that it is only the christian faith that goes under the hammer? And many are ready to gobble any bad news about the pastor, even if it sound impossible and implasuble and can not be verified. Many posts by christian antagonists are the figment of their imaginations and, at best, exaggerations. Every bad man in the society is painted with a brush of being a pastor the more so to smear the Church. I am tempted to consider the above link as one of them. Why not be more specific when you decide to post such weighty allegation against a pastor? Do you have a witness? With everybody feeling the economic crunch, why would a pastor who he,[Adeleye] said have 5 cars [that is a fleet] calls on his church members to buy one for his wife? Sounds incredulous to me. Adeleye also took his time to count how many cars the pastor possesses, when others are busy petitioning thier God and asking for directions. Talk about pure motives! And in such a scenario, what is the board of elders saying? I mean, if a pastor can possess a fleet of cars then the church is rich enough to have board of elders who advise the pastor. Many do not know that there is church administration in most churches; a pastor that can afford 5 cars as personal automobile would be wrong to tell his members to provide another one for his wife. From my 30 years in church ministry, no board of elders would entertain such request . Why is this slew of hate against this one religion? Is it because it is making impact and converting souls? Many have been killed in the northern part of that country, Nigeria. They are met with stiff resistance and death threat from some people in some state in the country. If any religious sect has contributed immensely to Nigeria's growth, it is Christianity. In terms of education, they lead the way more than the government. There are many christian owned. universities [Benson Idahosauniversity, Redeemer'suniveristy, Covenant university, and more] in the country with an excellent result in terms of performance and academic staff. It is no news that often the federal universities go on strike for more than a exceeding one academic section while the student languishes at home losing academic year meanwhile their counterpart in christian schools are doing just fine without interruptions. Christian ministries like Redeem christian church have constructed roads, Christ embassy has built police stations, and gave it to the government. Many have large scale industrialised farms employing millions. Others have hospitals with modern equipments Many give scholarships to students every year. Their schools, churches all speaks of excellence. Electricty and water supplyis constant compare to governemnt owned. For one person to come on social media and speak lies and exaggeratios all to bring pastors in badlight, speaks of nothing, but envy at its worst.Meanwhile, the some northern states are advocating for sharia laws; in a federation where there exist federal laws.
See you in church.
