FOUR REASONS PRAYERS DO NOT GET ANSWERS

Am persuaded to say no prayer book would have done justice to prayer without mentioning why some prayers do not get answers. These numbers are by no means exhaustive, but i will seek to mention some that are not common from our pulpits yet, strong enough to hinder a hitherto good request, intercession or supplication.


  1. Unbroken curse in our lineage: they link Most cases more to the paternal lineage than the maternal because they commonly identify you with your paternal side. For example , 'peter the son of Jonas', or' David the son of Jesse',. When curses are not broken they remain and interment ly rears up its ugly head to do havoc retreat and only to come back. Curses unbroken hinders your walk of faith and you can not have a complete victory. An example of a lineage curse is found in  2 Samuel 3:28-30 And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD forever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner: Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that has an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread. So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle. Do you think there is a curse in your family? Take action today and have a complete victory that Jesus wroth for you on the cross.
  2. Ascetic life/fasting: The reason God hears our prayers and gives answers is because of his son, Jesus Christ. He said in John 10:9; I am the door: by me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. When we develop a tendency to rely on our fasting and ascetic living to please God and therefore, get answers to our prayers we miss it and practice spiritism, looking for other ways to reach God or collect power from the powers in the air or sea or land see Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; We must rely and lean on the finished work of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ and not in other things or exercise like the burning of special candle or travelling to certain mountain. There are many powers that will grant your request, but at what cost? Some even kill later for granting that request to you, for that is indeed, their purpose John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
  3. Luke19:2-8 Lack of certain restoration:  Sins are gone with confessing of our wrong and accepting the finished work of Jesus 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But some times God wants us to go further by making amends with people we may have offended or even cause their family to suffer for long. This may look difficult by counselling and praying for direction it is possible no matter the offnese. God can soften hearts and they will receive you.This is restoration, most financial crimes are not really complete without restoration, especially when the person robbed is still alive and suffers.  This may look impossible, but with God this is possible as He will lead you.  Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.A glaring example in the bible is that of a man called Zacchaeus. see Luke19:2-8.
  4. Misplaced focus: Too much focus on the problem, too much focus on the challenge--- being consumed by the chaos. Learn to focus on God, who is far exalted above our problem or anything we can think about. As we focus on God, our problems, no matter how big, pales in significantly. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Many look unto Prophets, and other spiritual personality.

THE UPROAR OVER A CAR GIFT

 Recently, the general oversea and founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, marked his 70th birthday. Alot of feeding and other event, but the social media was agog with one thing; the gift of Rolls-Royce car to this man of God who has an outstanding record in Evangelism in  Nigeria regarding establishing ministries in every nook and crannies of Nigeria, and extending to other African countries.
