CHURCH BOMBING IN NORTHERN NIGERIA

Recently, Kaduna a state in Northern Nigeria, was a wash with the news of the capture of a would be church bomber at  Living Faith Church A.K.A  Winners' Chapel, situated at Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Council of the state. This was an unusual capture and it has generated a lot of dusks since that fateful day. Winners as this denomination is fondly called, has Bishop David Oyedipo as the general overseer and is one of the fastest growing church in the whole of west Africa. It has a university, Covenant university and one of the largest church auditorium with a sitting capacity of 50 thousands which is indeed, filled every sunday to the brim.  Dusk started rising when for the first time we heard that the suspected bomber is a christian! The police goes on to identify him as one Nathaniel samuel there was an identity on him, though,looks a fake I.D the police did not care to investigate, but believe who he says he was. Suddenly there was jubilation everywhere, not that he was caught, but that  according to the muslim community the christians are also involve in bombing only to always blame it on the muslim, until this one was caught.  An islamic human rights organization, MURIC ,personally carry this campaign of blaming the christians for all the atrocities that has always been committed in the volatile northern state of Kaduna on the 'cowards' christians.

While the police were not concrete or forthcoming with their investigation ,the christian organization CAN, has also been doing their own investigation which reveals the suspect as a muslim by the name of Sanni Nasiru. With the identity problem in the air the public looks to the police to solve this problem once and for all ,but they seems to be at a loss. Every investigation point him out to be a muslim yet, there he was with an identity on him an unusual thing. the first time in the history of bombing in the northern nigeria for a suicide bomber to carry an ID with hi,? why? for what purpose?

While the true identity was being debated, the leader of MURIC, professor Ishaq Akintola, a vocal christian critic,took again to social media to debunk and shamed the christians  asserting, they are in denial, but history in the  this northern state of Kaduna will show that the christian community has always been the target of muslim , saying they own the land. this is not the first time that a suicide bomber went into the church. the first time the worshippers were not so lucky as many died in a deeper life church also in the north.  Meanwhile the christians has libelled the whole scenario as a set up by the Muslin organisation to divert attention from the slaughter of christians going on in the northern states. While the real identity of the suspect is still lingering, the police has come out to say he is a muslim to the outcry of fowl play by the christians. asked to show prove they are at a loss because the means expected of them to show prove is not there. How can a nation that produces more than a million litres of oil per day still not have a national database for the sake of security? How can it be said that despite the budget allocated to defence the government has not updated their security system to with the biometric method of identification?  Does this man with the dual identity not have a passport? It is a shame that a populous country with over 190 million can not carry out identity of a suspect by means of biometrics.? It is a pity that the organisation, the police that will have settled this controversy is not up to their games. With this dismal situation and lack of security in the vast country no wonder kidnappers are always having a field day at work; especially on the highways from lagos to the eastern parts of the country. The road from lagos to the east has become a kind of bermuda triangle where vehicles ferrying families have disappear most times. The home front is even worse as robbers are known to have settled down to prepare a delicious meal in their victims homes without care that the police are hot on their heels! it is no gain saying that national identity management is the first step to national security of of any nation conscious of their responsibility to protect lives and properties of their citizens , tourists and migrant communities in the country.


AS the day goes by many christians are coming out to cry out being more that convince that it is a fowl play; for no christians have any motivation, reasons [personal or doctrinal] to bomb a church. many believe that the suspect is a christian imposter set up by one of the many jihadist group operating in the north Times without number, they have learn their evil trade on the christian body from kaduna to Borno state. Chibok, is the local government where the famous kidnapping of  276 girls were kidnapped in the evening from their dormitories. Only 57 escaped that ordeals the rest were driven into sambisa forest. 6 years down the road many are still not found with the parents have cried themselves to despair of ever seeing their loved girls alive again.

         
      We appeal to the federal government to wade into the lack of security in the country and assist the police force with the much needed logistics to combat and destabilized criminals and terrorist hideouts in the country. the porous borders have seen the inflow of sophisticated weaponry smuggled from Libya . For all we know the investigation by the christian association of Nigeria called have carried the day with truth, but the agency saddled with such responsibility, the Police force could have settled the whole debacle with one solid voice: the usage of Biometrics, passport control and background check. We do hope the man in question will open in truth so as to put all these to rest. Therefore, it is our hope that more security checks would henceforth be more intensive in all places of worship, Islam or Christianity in northern Nigeria. Enough is enough.
