DISCERNING THE VOICE OF GOD IN THIS PANDEMIC

On thursday evening the global case count of Covid-19 surpassed 1 million; getting  to that graph has been the thread of many country all over the world.  What is believed to have  originated in Chinese Wet market in Wuhan, has spread to the entire world; from Mexico to Manila from Cape to Cairo. The world was being plunged into despair with no end in sight. Government after Government have put in place  some measure following the instruction of WHO and added some  instruction of of their own health ministries and centre of disease control. One thing runs common amongst them,  social distancing, cough and sneeze into your elbows, wash your hands thoroughly as you enter your house each time with soap using hand sanitizer.   All these measures is to help,  "flatten the curve" which simply means the lower it takes for a country to reach its peak of the virus the lower the death rate they would experience.

Never in history have we witnessed a situation where churches all over the world is been commanded or ordered to close their doors to parishioners or make an arrangement to admit nothing more than 50 parishioners.  Suddenly, out of nowhere the blame game started from the house of God! With christian critics within and without the church asking why have the pastors/ professed prophets of God not been able to find a cure for this or better still, why did they not predict this would be happening? It will all stopped by march 27 and the rain that will stop it has already fell in Wuhan where the virus originated.

A well known pastor whom i respect very much even told his members that 5G mobile network are the cause of the novel coronavirus pandemic, a first step in ruling the world and bringing every one to subjection. That the new world order will also create a vaccine and through its application by any one will rule the world.

Outside the church it is no different with the conspiracy theory also having a feed day.

That Bill Gate co- created the virus as a population control.

Now with such bogus theories flying around how do you know the mind of God? With many ministers of the gospel saying varying interpretation and revelation how do you know the spirit of error? Let us not forget that God's  ratings of Man are so different.  When God was ready to change the spiritual landscape during the time of Eli the priest he did not bother to follow His known way of Speaking through the priest, but spoke through a small boy who had not yet developed the spiritual discernment of how to hear from God. Unfortunately, members will tend to believe their pastor's view, even if such pastors have fallen out with favor and from grace before God. Many will operate with the spirit of error. see 1 Kings 22:21-22 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Many pastors are in these situation , but they know it , but pride will not let them go back to God and repent!

Now the first part of hearing from God is humility. This humility is more than the prostrating we get from our children from some African tribe . Rather , it means a real consciousness that we have gone astray from the ways of God again, Feeling guilty and asking God for forgiveness. It is state where we are kept quiet without uttering one word because we know we have nothing to say as a result of our sin that is open before us in the presence of God. It is crawling to God in shame and embarrassment not being able to even lift up our voices nor our head and look up  to heaven; it is not acting like Cain when asked the whereabout of his brother or Adam when questioned of his position.

A man of God with the calling of a prophet and desirous to hear from God in these times of dismay will do well to go to God in  intercession for the entire world knowing, we have sinned then will seek his face over what is happening now? what is the way forward and the solution. This should be done with fasting and separation from the world around him. but atlast! what we have is a strife to be the one to say what God is saying and saying through him alone. 1 Kings 22:13-22 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak. So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD? And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil? And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.  From the above bible passage we see two men of God one wanting to please the king and the other saying the oracle of God.  How many have taken the time to seek God's face in this time before speaking? no wonder they are all giving contradictory one another, our God is not the author of confusion.1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.


The congregations is another aspect we should look at. Many critics have taken the faith healers to task asking why have they not go to these hospitals to carry out healing? Let us see Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Those who must exercise faith must come before God Faith takes you out of your way to look for the healer.

 Mark 8:22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

 Mark 10:47-50 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

 Mark 5:22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

In all these passages those who were healed had to come to Jesu and not the other way round. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

please us be guided in these times and seek God's face in humility asking for the forgiveness of sins and the way out . The land is sick and needs healing, the people are sick, too and needs healing it is time to seek the face of God and let go of the many conspiracy theories flying at our faces
HE will speak and will not fail to deliver. Amen.
