Are all pastors church planters

1 Corinthians 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Enoch Adeboye One of the humblest ministers of God, pastor Emmanuel Adeboye, has, for the first time, narrated how God delivered him from starting his own ministry. Perhaps this is one of the secret to his success in the ministry, obedience to God after hearing his voice. He told his massive congregation during the weekend how he nursed the ambition of planting his own ministry way back in 1977. Indeed, not all pastors are called to plant ministries, but many today think that the completion of a bible school is an automatic licence to start a ministry of their own.We live in a world where if you are a pastor without being a founder, you are a mediocre in the call of God; the cleric disabused the mind of many this last week. Many junior ministers allude that the ambition to start their own ministry is owing to too many church doctrines and lack of a free hand in going out and doing what they think the holy spirit leads them;it’s being curtailed to being all they can be in the ministry. There is always somebody to report to before any move. There is always permission to be sorted before any journey, no matter the urge, but the pastor has a different view. He said: “When every Dick and Harry will come to say, ‘we don’t want to belong to any denomination, we want to start a ministry, God told me, this is where you stay. “I obeyed, I followed that father, I did whatever he said I should do, and that’s why I am where I am today. Oh, I could have started my ministry long ago. “Way back in 1977, I held a program, ‘Christ Redeemer Congress’ in Ile Ife Grammar School, people came from all over Nigeria. I collected the names of all secondary schools and teacher’s training colleges and I invited them all and they came. “I could have taken over from there, but God said no, here, this is the one to follow. And He had given instructions that my brain couldn’t understand. But looking at the facts on ground, one is compelled to agree with the elder pastor; many of our young pastors lack experience and, indeed, wisdom. We see youth exuberance in many of their sermons without giving heed to patience, long suffery and humility. Many sermons are motivational speeches laced with rousing claps and resounding AMEN. The word of the apostle paul comes to mind in the book of 1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: Paul was neither an orator nor a man of eloquence, but he wanted the church at Corinth to know that those were immaterial but what matters is the power of God seen in action as he ministers to the saints of God. Stan up, wave your hands, shout a big amen, slap the devil, shake yourself three times. How many elderly people will feel they is belong to such a congregation? Yet, a minister has the gifted ability to minister to all ages and educational background; for the gospel is really a simple message of love. The bare fact he did not mention that day is that he, being a professor of mathematics, God commanded, to work with an illiterate elder pastor! This passage comes to mind; Isaiah 40:28 ,Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. Thank you, papa for a counsel freely given to those who have ears!
