WHO WEARS THE CROWN

 1 Corinthians 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Our lord and saviour once said: “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” [Mathew7:14] Like every word that came from his divine lips, the importance of this can not be over emphasis. The gospel, good news of how Jesus died for the sins of humanity and made it possible for all those who believe and accept him to come to the father is indeed, for man, but because of the gods in this world many will not see or accept this gift of God. Read with me, 1 Timothy 3:16:” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”. Again, 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For those who have seen this received this truth most time they have come under intense persecution and difficulty just for accepting to follow this way.

But there is a reward that the saviour has promised. Apostle Paul, in my opening quotation, encourages us to strive to make it. [1 Corinthians 9:25] All those who have come to embrace Christianity have first a duty to live by its tenets and secondly to tell others, preach about this wonderful faith. No one is saved to remain in the pew, warming the seat and at the end of the service, go home.

Here are the type crowns promised those who have remained faithful

CRWON OF LIFE: for those who persevere under trials, especially to the point of death [REV.2:10]

CROWN OF GLORY: for those who faithfully and sacrificially minister God’s word to the flock [1PET.5:4]

CROWN OF INCORRUPTIBLE: to those who win the race of temperance and self-control [1cor.9:25]

THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: given to those who long for the second coming of Christ [2tim.4:8]

THE UPROAR OVER A CAR GIFT

 Recently, the general oversea and founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, marked his 70th birthday.
