Man’s quest for immortality.

It was Nikolai Fedorov , a Russian philosopher who once said that humans could intervene in their own evolution and so direct it towards immortality and resurrection. He attributed this to ‘knowledge and common labor’ but not a miracle. Nikolai does not belief there is another life nor there exist a soul in man.

But let us hear what Jesus said in the book of Matthew 10:28, And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Jesus, our lord and savior, made this known in one of his epic teachings in the Bible.  We can deduce from the statement that human is more than the physical body; there is more to the physical man. But science gives us a different narrative. We are what we see just this physical body with internal and external organs. It is pertinent to understand one fact in what Jesus said that is there is death of the body and there is another death of the soul [invisible to medical science] and only the creator, the omnipotent and omniscience can have the death of the soul, which only happen after the death of the mortal body. but science and technology with all its goodness and betterment for mankind, would have us belief only in the physical existence of man , mortal body] which is he is living on this planet.  When his breath ceases he dies. This death takes him through a process [first stage called “Livor Mortis” till the final stage referred to as “Skeletonization” -skeleton. Science sees this as the end of life, no repercussion for evil, or reward for good, helpfulness, kindness or faith. You just die like every other person[ the good, the bad and the ugly] dies and that is the end. No life after that.  No consciousness, no life after death, all comes and goes through same process till Skeletonization. After this skeletonization there comes the final stage which is the skeletal frame turns to dust[agrees with the scriptures see the bible, Genesis 3:19, In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.]But if there is no consequence for evil done after death, why try to do well? why try to be a righteous person? why follow the narrow path? After all the natural gravitation of man is to do whatever he deems good to him; to live without restriction, and cause pain and even death to another if he so desires , to allows his covetous appetite to have a field day each day. If he like it he takes it from you and even kill you in the process. Here is the thing. Laws of the land, enacted by another sinful man, has placed restrictions that if you disobey you pay a price for it which is by incarceration or death. How much more would a righteous creator not display justice to those who do evil after their demise from the flesh. Well, this is a subject for another day. Many would admit that this scientific view don’t just sit well with us, we have a strong and core believe that there is consequence for those who have committed heinous crimes and atrocities after they die, in other words- there is life after death and there is consciousness. And one can feel pain or joy in that life. Science fails to acknowledge that there exist souls within all men. They are busy with research, to stop the aging process and ultimately stop death. Some wealthy people would have their bodies frozen after they die ,[cryogenics] believing that science would conquer death someday then their bodies would be defrosted and given life again, this of Course, is an elusive dream to all who are spiritual and not carnal. But if man is able to stop the aging process and death, then man has become higher than the omnipotent God as we know today. Man would have proved Him God to be a liar when he said he has power to give life and death, See John 5:24-25, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
