  The word Hemelvaartsdag”, is Ascension-day in the Netherlands. This day is a holiday and I dare say, this is one of the two holidays in the country that bears any resemblance to Christianity. The majestic looking cathedrals having been converted to museum and others as shopping malls. The Ascensión of Jesus is one of the ultimate proofs of his divinity and his claim as the son of God. In the book of   John 8:23,  And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. Let me emphasis on the records that show that no founder of a major religion in the world has dared to say they are from above or called themselves the son of God. The bible recorded birthday celebration in two different books in the bible and sadly enough the two ended in the death of a person. Some Christian denominations believe these deaths are too much to be called a coincidence and therefore, think there is a spirit associated with the celebration, which is not godly and so believers should shun birthdays.
