FAITH IN ACTION[2]
In the first article on this important subject, we talked about faith and that faith brings out an action in us; it moves us to the road we will encounter Jesus. The beckoning within us does not bring God to us, but brings us to God. Now, this kind of faith is common to all men because all men have faith. Believe, for without believe, in something we can not live in this universe. For example, if i do not believe that i will get to my destination if i take a flight, i will never board that flight. If i do not believe that the surgeon standing before me can give me a successful surgery i can not give me consent. Not the kind of faith God gives us when we become christians, this one is already inborn in us; to believe in something. This faith, which all men have, is what also brings us to God. It is this faith that preachers, pastors, evangelists appeal to in our lives, therefore, it is possible to believe in God no matter who you are the message of salvation is to all humankind. Here is an example of what i mean let us read Acts 16:29-31, Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. The prison warder was certainly a Roman citizen, not a Jew, but he can exercise faith in the message. This is the sum and substance of the Christian mission. We appeal to you through preaching and evangelism, and that message is hinged on John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This belief without hearing the entire message can even move the hand of God to perform miracles because faith magnets God's power into our situation. That is why believing is important. The woman with blood was not one of Jesus' Disciple, she just believed. Jairus was not a disciple; he just believed that Jesus was the Son of God. When we have implicit faith, when we believe in this God immediately we come to him, we can receive our miracle in any form.
But there is another faith we receive when we come to God. When we allow what we have been taught, which we call seed, to grow in us. When this seed [word of God] grows as we take heed of what we hear, it produces another kind of faith in us. Let us read Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.
