Am persuaded to say no prayer book would have done justice to prayer without mentioning why some prayers do not get answers. These numbers are by no means exhaustive, but i will seek to mention some that are not common from our pulpits yet, strong enough to hinder a hitherto good request, intercession or supplication.  From the onset, it should be made conspicuosly clear that prayer and fasting is not a magic wand that give you wharever you need from God. Indeed, fasting does not change God, but you . it places you in a palce to hear, receive aand see. It is not the solution when overappied you become a Spiritualist. Obideince still remains the way to God's manifold blessings and Jesus still remains the door to Heaven. A life of  obideince and right living can get you what no other power can ever do. It spares us from running from pillar to post. Why then do we need to apply fasting? here are some reasons. Most times we rave and rant because others seems to wallow and delight in what we or the society perceive as a vice; He smokes like a chimney all the time, he goes on a drinking binge when he gets his pay, only to go begging  or borrowing two weeks later. Why would he not encourage the boy to find his niche, why he keeps pushing him to football, why he thinks his son is missing it,why he thinks he has the best way for him and i know it will only be a repetition of the flood gate of answers i have always received, but i just can not stop asking the same question  :  "why do you want him to play football," You know he   has  a flair and interest   in  other things? the boy has shown interest from the time he was just a tiny tot. Why on earth would he have interest in that? of all the games and profession in the world how does it expect to go far with a profession like that? it is nothing, but a misnomer to call that a profession, i can not imagine my own son choosing such a ridiculous thing as a profession.
